Construction Technolgy
Here is one of my inventions that I have created in Construction Tech
First of all, you should have the measurements of the step-stool at the home page, it should be in Inches. You should have two wooden blocks that you have to cut off from the 38 1/2" block using the power miter saw. One of the block should be 14" long and the other should be 24 1/2" long. When you have two different wood for your stool, you will need a jointer to smooth out the wood, you should only smooth out one flat side of the wood and one long side of the wood for both of them.
Now you should use a thickness planner to flatten the wood to be about 1" tall, consult a trained professional that could properly be able to use the thickness planner safely. Once you got both of the wood to be about an inch tall, get the 14" wood and cut off 1" from each side with the table saw once to make the board 12". This will be use to as the head of the wood.
Now get the 24 1/2" wood and cut out two 6 1/2" of wood that you would use for your legs for the stool, you should also cut out a 2" block that you will have to use as a base for the leg. But the legs of the stool needs to have a chopped off angle of 30° for each of the sides, make sure both of the legs are aligned up equally.
After you have align the legs of the wood, you will need to use a measure the legs and try to draw a triangle. The bottom two ends must be 2 1/4" away from the ends of the legs and the triangles both most line up properly. You will need to use the sliding miter saw to cut off the hole for the triangle. When you're cutting one side of the triangle, you will have to stop the machine fully, slowly take the wood away form the blade and begin cutting the other side of the triangle. Once you've done this, cut the other hole for the triangle.
Now you should sand your wood, you will only need to sand the sides of the legs of the stools, the top of the 12" wood and its sides and the insides of where you cut your triangle hole.
With that completed, you will now need a hand drill to drill a hole through the top center of the leg. But before we do that, you will need to measure place the 2" wooden block for your base that is needed to keep the legs steady. One end of the wooden block must be flat at the same level to the top leg of the stool. You will have to align the stool with the wooden block and carefully drill the hole through the leg and the 2" base of the stool. The hole will have to be deep enough to fit the screw in deep through the hole. Now apply this same method to the other side of the stool.
When you're finished drilling and screwing in the nail for the legs of the stool, you may now have to carefully align your 12" wooden plank on the top of the legs so that the wood would be sticking out the same distance away from the legs of the wood. You would now need to drill in four different holes on top of the wood to connect the top with the legs. There will be two holes for each sides of the legs of the stool they will have to be around 3" away from each other. Keep the wood study when you're drilling in the four holes for the step-stool. Once you drill the four holes, You will to screw in the nail through the hole.
You should have the step-stool finished and ready to paint with any color you want. But make sure the stool isn't shaking a lot when placed on the ground. If it is, then you should try to sand the bottom of the wood to even out the sides of the wood.
